This wedding planner brand design is inspired by lakeside gatherings and the distinct togetherness that comes along with them.
When I first spoke with Brooke DePauw of Stellaluna Events, there was so much about her story that resonated with me. I spent my childhood by the lake, soaking up sweet sunshine and dancing among the fireflies. Nobody understands that magic like Brooke does: she plans weddings throughout Michigan, with a special focus on lakeside celebrations.
Aren’t you so in love with the name? Brooke named her business after the beloved children’s book, Stellaluna: her grandmother’s storytime favorite. I remember flipping through those pages myself as a little girl. It’s little details like these that really add character to a brand, don’t you think?
Brooke was looking for a logo that would lean toward a classic lakeside aesthetic, without feeling overly nautical. She also wanted to avoid looking too feminine or girly—preferring something that could appeal to both brides and grooms.
With a classic serif and traditional typesetting, we achieved Brooke’s vision! A simple knot icon served a twofold purpose: a hint of nautical design, and a nod to “tying the knot.” With a clean tagline and founding date, this deceptively simple logo design is complete.
