This bridal editorial explores the idea of white space: the intentional “breathing room” in a composition. It provides visual rest for the eye—creating balance and drawing focus to the subject within it. White space sets the tone for our contemporary bride: refined, striking, and regal.
This session captures the carefully selected details of a sacred occasion: the purposeful details that a bride has chosen to represent her wedding day. The concept is pared down to only the most intentional elements, in order to emphasize each component of the composition: the bride’s striking eyes, a distinctive headpiece, her delicate ring.
In every image, white space refines our focus and draws attention to the deliberate details of a bride’s precious wedding day. It bypasses the extraneous in favor of the extraordinary.
Months ago I told a few of my creative friends that I had an abstract idea of a floral headpiece—a loosely woven crown in combination with a traditional veil for a striking visual effect. My dear friend and talented floral designer Olivia (Olive Grove Design) took my vague idea and turned it into a gorgeous reality. Her editorial headpiece is the star of this gallery and it’s easy to see why!
I’m loving every inch of this modern suite—and there’s a lot of it to soak in! It was such a joy to craft all the pieces that play a part in this bridal editorial. Take a look below, and enjoy:
… and a few behind-the-scenes shots of me doing what I love most!
