Congratulations to Shayna of The Wood Grain Cottage on a new chapter in life and business! Shayna is an interior blogger and modern homemaker with a love for transforming her house into a true home.
After taking a hiatus from her blog, Shayna wanted to come back with a fresh start and a fresh new look. This brand design is part of a deeper shift in her business and personal life; it was an honor to work together during such a transitional season.
Shayna’s readers appreciate a welcoming atmosphere, thoughtful details, and handmade touches. We brought all of those elements to life within her brand!
The primary logo is composed of an elegant combination of type (serif, sans serif, and a hand-lettered detail). But the brand really comes to life through additional elements: custom illustrations, badges, patterns, and more. I wanted to give Shayna a super versatile brand toolkit, allowing her to create a personalized and cohesive online space for her readers.
Every element has a story: the tree speaks to beloved childhood memories, where Shayna’s love for homemaking is rooted. Each illustration is customized to Shayna’s own home, from lamps to holiday décor.
Branding is for our clients… but, in our industry, our businesses are also inherently personal. Sometimes a re-brand signifies a greater shift in our lives—and it’s such a gift to walk alongside my clients during these monumental changes.
