Today I’m sharing another conceptual brand design—this time for a fishing supply company: Nymph and Trout. This fictitious brand would provide fly fishing goods and quality outdoor gear. I imagine Nymph and Trout’s customers to be the type who would also enjoy browsing the aisles at Orvis, Pendleton, or Patagonia.
A mix of typographic styles gives this brand an adventurous feel without sacrificing a polished overall image. The custom typographic monogram adds a sense of refinement and traditional style to the brand (which helps balance the look, keeping it from feeling too playful).
I also drew design inspiration from the name… nymph fishing flies offer a fun opportunity for an illustrative interpretation of a nymph and lure. I then added illustrations of a trout and fishing lures to finish out the brand. It was easy to get carried away with the badges and sub-marks on this one!
