Semi-Custom Wedding Invitation Design for Sarah
The greatest joy of my job is connecting with clients as sweet as my bride Sarah G. Her authentic desire for a heartfelt and faithful marriage was evident from our first conversation… She and her fiancé Tommy have invested their hearts in a wedding day that is truly just the beginning: a milestone marking the first step of an intentional marriage. It was an honor to work alongside such an admirable couple, and I have no doubt that they are on the path toward a lifetime of faithful service to Christ and to each other.
Sarah selected one of my semi-custom suites: The Audrey. The illustrated laurel wreaths were exactly the organic touch she was looking for—and the interlocking script of the couple’s names caught her eye. We personalized the suite with a soft green color, reflecting Sarah’s affinity for eucalyptus. We also incorporated traditional Catholic wording to formalize the invitation and set the tone for Tommy and Sarah’s Nuptial Mass.
And when she opted to letterpress the full suite, I think my heart skipped a beat! Letterpress adds such a luxe textural detail, elevating the entire design. With a custom eucalyptus-colored ink, the calligraphed envelopes were the finishing touch. I can only imagine how much her loved ones enjoyed receiving these pretty pieces in their mailboxes!
The Details Card
One of our favorite elements? The illustration on the details card! We did something a little different with this particular illustration… usually I sketch the outdoor view of the venue. However, when Sarah and I talked about her church venue, it became clear that we should do something a bit more personalized. St. Laurence’s stained glass windows and beautiful sanctuary were the features that had touched Sarah’s heart… so why not incorporate them into the wedding invitation suite design? I created a little sketch of the interior sanctuary, including a loose interpretation of the church’s beautiful stained glass. In particular, we focused special attention on the right-hand side of the sanctuary window, featuring a stained glass angel—her mom’s favorite spot in the whole church.
It won’t be long at all until this bride-to-be becomes a wife! It has been a joy working with Sarah and Tommy; I am deeply grateful to work with clients like these two lovebirds. And their love story is only just beginning! I can’t wait to see how marriage blesses them and all those they encounter. Sarah and Tommy, best wishes for a beautiful wedding day—and a deeply treasured marriage.
