I’m loving everything about these bold burgundy hues and New Orleans vibes. This invitation suite is full of unique detail if you just look close enough. A custom monogram adorns the top of the main invitation, complemented by a lilting calligraphic script and dainty serif typography.
My favorite part is the custom envelope liner. I hand-illustrated the french horn – a quintessential piece of a New Orleans wedding! – and manipulated it into a memorable liner pattern. Other sweet little details included a French-Quarter lantern illustration on the Save the Date, and elegant little place cards scripted in walnut ink.
This shoot is a perfect example of how lovely the internet can be (and, of course, snail mail!). Thanks to online communication and a little help from the USPS, I had the pleasure of sending my pretty little suite across a few states to partake in a New Orleans styled shoot shoot. I was overjoyed to work with Hannah Groat Photography, whose work I’ve always admired—and her beautiful work did not disappoint!
Our venue, The Henry Howard Hotel, is full of character that has me dreaming of a weekend road trip to Louisiana. Without further ado, take a peek at this gorgeous shoot, hosted in the city of laissez les bon temps rouler! (Can you spot this classic NOLA phrase on the main invitation?)
